Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel Announces Acquisition of Booth Creek Capital and Addition of Adam Savin

Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel, a wealth management firm recognized by Forbes, Barron’s, and CNBC as one of the nation's leading independent advisors, is thrilled to announce the completion of its acquisition of Vail-based Booth Creek Capital and addition of its founder and portfolio manager, Adam Savin. The acquisition demonstrates Obermeyer Wood’s commitment to providing top-tier investment solutions to clients.

Under the acquisition, Adam joins Obermeyer Wood as a Vice President of Investments and Partner. Adam brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the firm. He founded Booth Creek Capital in Vail in 2010 and has extensive experience managing public equity portfolios. From 2005 to 2008, Adam served as the head of Merrill Lynch Global Strategic Investment Group, where he held responsibility for a multibillion-dollar long/short equity fund, managing a team whose responsibilities included portfolio allocation strategy, selection, and risk management. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Adam held several positions at Morgan Stanley, including managing a billion-dollar long/short equity portfolio.

"We are excited to welcome Adam to our team," said Ali Phillips, President of Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel. "His expertise will be invaluable as we enhance our investment strategies and bolster our capabilities to better serve our clients in the years and decades to come."

This strategic move enhances Obermeyer Wood's investment team and underscores the firm's commitment to better serving its clients. With the establishment of an office in Avon, Colorado, scheduled for fall 2024, Obermeyer Wood aims to be more accessible and responsive to the needs of clients in the Vail Valley.

Obermeyer Wood Investment Counsel remains committed to its mission of providing exceptional wealth management services to individuals, families, and nonprofits across the nation. Wally Obermeyer, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, added, “The hiring of Adam Savin and combination with Booth Creek represents a strategic next step to furthering our firm’s commitment to putting clients’ financial well-being first.”
